Guidelines and Schedule

What will you be doing?
1. Pick one of these topics: Mesopotamia / Ancient Egypt / Hebrews / Assyrian Empire / Persian Empire
2. Design an infographic about that topic.

What's an infographic?
An infographic is a visual representation of a subject. Below are some examples.

Where do I find my information?
1. Your class notes.
2. Other books.
3. The internet.
You MUST cite all your sources on your infographic. Include a list of them at the bottom of your infographic.

How do I make my infographic?
1. Use one of these websites:
- www.piktochart.com
- www.canva.com
2. Or use another website or program of your choice.

How do I turn my project in?
Save a copy and email it to me.

When is my project due?
See the deadlines that have been announced in your class.

Extra Credit

Directions: Every extra credit opportunity is worth 5 points that will be applied to your homework grade. Your homework grade cannot be higher than 100%.

Option 1 MUST be completed first. The remaining options may be completed in any order.
Your name and the name of the extra credit option MUST be on your extra credit when you turn it in.

Extra Credit Option 1
Watch this Youtube video (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7CwqNHn_Ns&index=2&list=PL8dPuuaLjXtNcAJRf3bE1IJU6nMfHj86W). Then, pick one of the note-taking methods mentioned in the video. Next, watch the video a second time and take notes on it using the note-taking method you chose. Turn those notes in to me.

Extra Credit Option 2
Watch any of the other Crash Course Study Skills videos (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhuwS5ZLwKY&list=PL8dPuuaLjXtNcAJRf3bE1IJU6nMfHj86W) and take notes (using one of the methods from option 1) on it. Turn those notes in to me.

Extra Credit Option 3
Take any of the lecture notes from any of this semester's classes and take your own notes on it using one of the methods from option 1. Turn those notes in to me.

Extra Credit Option 4
Listen to this podcast episode on retrieval practice and take notes on it using one of the methods from option 1. Turn those notes in to me.

Extra Credit Option 5
Listen to any episode of this podcast and take notes on it using one of the methods from option 1. Turn those notes in to me.

Extra Credit Option 6 (Chemistry only)
Read one chapter of Elements of Chemistry by Antoine Laurent Lavoisier (linked here) and write a ONE PAGE summary of what you read. Turn your summary in to me.

Extra Credit Option 7 (Western Civ 1 only)
Listen to one of the lessons on the Protestant Reformation (linked here) and take notes on it using one of the methods from option 1. Turn those notes in to me.

Some of these options can be completed more than once. The options this applies to are options 2, 3, 5, and 7.
